The woman died in the fire, lying in bed. Pamela Vale, thirty-four years old. A beautiful young woman with a substantial life insurance policy. Her husband doesn't seem very affected. Her children appear frightened. Jack Wade, an insurance investigator, believes he knows what happened. He just needs to gather the evidence to prove it.
