The disfigured body of a man missing the index finger of his right hand is found in the Polloe cemetery in San Sebastián. He was a homeless man who slept in a mausoleum every night. Emilia Castro Urrutia, the deputy commissioner of the Ertzaintza (Basque Police), will be in charge of investigating an increasingly complex case that will take her to various locations across Spain, as other bodies soon begin to appear with a baffling pattern: all are missing a finger.
