Verona, 1392. Juliet and Romeo have yet to meet, but both have just turned sixteen and are among the four hundred Initiates ready to cross the threshold of the Academy: a year of training and deadly riddles at the end of which those who survive will acquire the powers necessary to defend the planet. The Earth, created millions of years ago by the goddess Alyaster, is at risk of being destroyed by the hatred of a faceless creature. To protect it, Alyaster created the Edenites: special beings capable of receiving, upon completion of their training at the Academy, a portion of her powers to prevent the end of the world.
