Selección de cuentos de Fiódor M. Dostoievski desde sus comienzos literarios en 1845 hasta 1877.
This selection of short stories by Fyodor M. Dostoevsky attempts to cover the entire period of his writing career, from his literary beginnings in 1845 to 1877. These tales, no less brilliant than his novels for being brief, feature recurring themes throughout his work: the swindlers swindled in "Novel in Nine Letters," the delusion of a miser in "Mr. Prokharchin," and the generosity of the Russian people in "The Honest Thief." On the other hand, "The Other Woman and Her Husband Under the Bed," "Bobok," and "The Crocodile" perfectly exemplify his more satirical and humorous side. The stories included in this volume thus offer the reader a broad view of the complex artistic personality of this great creator, who always considered it his duty "to rehabilitate the individual destroyed, crushed by the unjust yoke of circumstances, age-old stagnation, and social prejudices."
