Rudeus's group finally finds Zenith. However, she is imprisoned in a crystal guarded by a powerful guardian. Paul rushes in to rescue her, but the gigantic hydra regenerates its heads every time they are cut off and, to make matters worse, is immune to magic. The group is forced to make a strategic retreat, which causes friction between father and son.
