La dependienta

Keiko Furukura is 36 years old and single. In fact, she's never had a partner. Since leaving her traditional family to move to Tokyo, she's worked part-time as a clerk at a konbini, a 24-hour convenience store. She's always felt like she didn't fit in, but at the store, she's found a predictable world, governed by a manual that dictates how employees should act and what to say. She's managed to achieve the normalcy that society demands of her: everyone wants to see Keiko settle down, follow a conventional path that will make her, in their eyes, an adult.
