The Picture of Dorian Gray tells the story of a young aristocrat whose life is forever altered when the painter Basil Hallward immortalizes his likeness in a portrait. Dazzled by his own beauty, Dorian longs to preserve it forever, wanting the canvas, not his body, to bear the marks of time. Under the cynical and seductive influence of Lord Henry Wotton, he plunges into a life of hedonism, manipulation, and covert cruelty. Each immoral decision leaves his face untouched, but distorts the portrait, which becomes a terrifying mirror of his soul. Between parties, hushed scandals, and memories he'd rather forget, Dorian tries to ignore the consequences of his desire, until the unsettling presence of the painting transforms his existence into a constant flight from himself.
