Polly Milton is a simple, affectionate, and always cheerful country girl. She dresses in modest, old-fashioned clothes, but she doesn't care at all: for her, true wealth is measured differently. Fanny Shaw, on the other hand, is a wealthy city girl who loves to be fashionable and indulge in all sorts of frivolities. When Polly arrives in the city as a guest at Fanny's house, it seems impossible that they could ever get along… and yet, a genuine and surprising friendship blossoms between them.
