This book arose from a discovery: a notebook containing Ida Vitale's earliest poems, written in Uruguay. Considered lost after the author's exile in Mexico and later in the United States, these poems reveal the sensitivity and precocious talent of an exceptional writer, deserving of the Cervantes Prize, as well as the Reina Sofía, García Lorca, and Guadalajara International Book Fair awards.
