When the kingdom of Jasad burned, its magic was outlawed, and the royal family was slaughtered down to the last child. Or at least, that's what Sylvia wants people to believe. Jasad's long-lost heir, Sylvia, doesn't want anyone to find her. She can't afford to dwell on the fact that Nizahlian armies massacred her kingdom and continue to hunt her people...not if she wants to stay alive. However, when Arin, the heir to Nizahl, tracks a group of Hasadi rebels to her village, staying one step ahead of death becomes increasingly difficult.
