Gwenna has always considered herself an ordinary person. A former servant, she desires nothing more than to secure a stable job at the Royal Artifact Guild so she can earn some coins and send them to her mother. She's nothing special. In fact, she's not a necromancer. That would be impossible, given that necromancy (or any kind of "divination") is forbidden under penalty of death. So, if the dead keep speaking to her… well, she'll keep ignoring them. They're not going to interfere with her dreams. And what else stands in her way? A huge, arrogant, and overly flirtatious Taurian named Raptor. They slept together once, and now he wants more… but she doesn't have time for that. Her priority is being a novice, an apprentice at the Royal Artifact Guild. But Raptor doesn't disappear because he's on a secret mission for the guild: to find an artifact thief. The problem is, he thinks the thief is Gwenna. How can she convince Raptor he's got the wrong girl when all the clues point to her? And how do you tell a Taurus you can't go out with him because you can hear the dead and that could cost you your life?
