El funeral de Lolita

“I don’t even know if you’re alive, but I had to tell you: Roberto passed away this morning,” reads the message from Rocío, a former high school classmate, and Helena’s heart leaps. Just like the day she realized she’d fallen in love with her Literature teacher. At the funeral home, Rocío, to whom Helena entrusted her diary many years ago, is waiting for her, as is Laura, Roberto’s widow, who insists on inviting her to her home. A young, renowned, and controversial food critic, Helena analyzes, recommends, and criticizes flavors and dishes, but she doesn’t know what to do with her life. Back in her hometown, as memories flood back and knot her stomach, she must decide.
