Lar : Una tragedia

In A Coruña in 1857, a group of working women lives trapped between precariousness, the burden of caregiving, and daily violence. Mothers, daughters, widows, and young women sustain life while mechanization threatens their livelihoods in the tobacco factory. In this space of exhausted bodies and fragile bonds, rage begins to take collective form and culminates in a revolt that challenges the social order. Bibiana Candia constructs a story about motherhood, absence, labor, and resistance, where the intimate and the communal intertwine. Through a choral voice and language of great symbolic power, Lar delves into memory and the power of women who, even on the margins, find a way to raise their voices.
