El nido

Sara is an ornithologist who has just turned fifty. When her youngest son leaves home, the void he leaves reopens the wounds, never healed, of another absence whose pain has haunted her for over a decade. Under the pretext of a study on an endangered bird, Sara returns to her old holiday home in the Ebro Delta. It was there, one distant summer afternoon, that a terrible accident changed the family's life forever. Upon opening that door behind which time seems to have stood still, this woman, until now unyielding, is swept away by a hurricane of emotions. She will not only confront guilt and resentment, but will also discover within herself an instinct that will take her beyond the limits of her own morality.
