Las flores del ayer

On All Saints' Day, Tina accompanies her mother and uncle to the cemetery to honor her grandmother. Upon discovering flowers on the grave and witnessing the adults' nervous reaction, Tina senses that a chapter in her family's past has been deliberately erased. Through Aurora, Marga, and Tina, we journey through the post-war period, the transition to democracy, and 2000s Spain to show how decisions made out of love, fear, or loyalty can become invisible legacies: guilt, wounds, pacts, and absences passed down from mothers to daughters. From the Maquis resistance fighters of the Maestrazgo region to the hallways of an American private school, "Las flores del ayer" (The Flowers of Yesterday) paints an intimate portrait of inherited trauma, motherhood in all its forms, and the strength —and the price— of survival. All of this unfolds against the backdrop of Valencia, a vibrant setting that, like its characters, also evolves with time.
