In 2006, the kidnapping of Catherine Ducane, daughter of the governor of Louisiana, triggers an investigation spanning five decades that uncovers a murky web of organized crime, corruption, and death. Special Agent Ray Hartmann finds himself at one end of the investigation. At the other is Ernesto Pérez, a retired hitman with more than one score to settle.
