Animales a la fuga

Italy, late 1950s: the economic boom is just beginning, and the country is reaping the benefits, but the small island of Dieci, off the coast of Lazio, remains untouched by this newfound wealth. Orphaned teenagers Franco and Marcello are destined to become fishermen, just like generations of men on the island before them. While Marcello is eager to get on a boat and start fishing, the shy and sensitive Franco longs for something different. Their lives will change forever when a film crew, led by the disgraced and alcoholic director Augusto Campagnoli, arrives in Dieci with his daughter Claretta, a restless teenager fleeing city life. Campagnoli's film will bring wealth and fame to the island, but will this prosperity truly help its inhabitants, or is it something that only a select few will benefit from?
