El temor del cielo

The atmosphere is cold, not so much because of the weather or the season, but because of the chill that has settled between the characters, or because of the silence born of what has never been said. And sometimes the Föhn blows, a dry, unnerving wind that, they say, unsettles minds. Against this backdrop, the reader watches seven stories unfold. All revolve around a passion that could be love: a mother's for her newborn daughter, the love between two women who have lived together for many years, the love between a married couple who own a butcher shop, the love between an elderly couple about to celebrate their golden anniversary, the love between twins who carve fantastical coffins. But, in reality, it is more like heartbreak, or any of the many forms a relationship can take when it hides a secret, perhaps even festering resentments. And, always, fear.
