When the most wicked fairy of all arrives at a village workshop to have a new dress made, Géraldine, the seamstress, inadvertently reveals that the royal daughter's presentation is imminent. The fairy is so upset at not being invited and having to find out about it that, in revenge, she attends the ceremony and curses the newborn to die at the age of twenty after pricking her finger on a spindle. Grateful for having the secret revealed, Géraldine gives Géraldine and her family a spinning wheel so they can easily maintain their workshop despite the king's restrictions. She will return for it in twenty years, when the curse is due to be fulfilled. In that time, she needs a favor from Géraldine: to find the princess and reveal her whereabouts to her at the opportune moment. Béatrice, Géraldine's eldest daughter, is tasked with finding the princess to save the lives of the entire family, but time is running out. The princess's twentieth birthday is fast approaching, and she still hasn't found her. She's not even sure she wants to. What kind of person would she become if she threw an innocent child into the hands of an evil witch?
