When Remy Wadia left India for America, he carried with him the open wound of a cold and inscrutable mother, and he has kept his distance ever since. Years later, he returns to Mumbai intending to adopt a baby and reconnect with his elderly mother before it's too late. She is hospitalized, has stopped speaking, and seems to have given up on life. Haunted by guilt for not recognizing the severity of her condition, Remy throws himself into helping her recover and return home. But one day he finds an old photograph that demands answers.
