El eco de la culpa : Drama en un acto sobre memoria y violencia

"The Echo of Guilt" is a one-act play that explores the weight of memory and the open wounds of political violence. In the stark setting of a hermitage, a recently released former ETA member and the son of one of his victims engage in a tense dialogue that oscillates between rage, regret, and the impossibility of forgiveness. Through silences laden with meaning and an oppressive atmosphere that envelops every gesture, the play invites reflection on inherited pain, collective memory, and the limits of reconciliation. At a time when narratives risk becoming diluted by false equivalencies and falsifications, "The Echo of Guilt" asserts the need to call things by their name. Faced with the contemporary temptation to conflate responsibilities or to conceal, under ambiguous consensus, those who caused the pain, this text places everyone in their rightful place: there were victims and there were perpetrators. And it is precisely in this clarity —uncomfortable, yet necessary— that the play finds its moral purpose.
