La sombra de Atón

The young priest Ahmose, secretary to Prince Khamwaset, finds a fragment of papyrus in a courtyard of the Temple of Ptah at Men-Nefer. He immediately recognizes it as a formula for poisoning the sacred Apis bull and informs his lord, who is meeting with his father when he receives the news. It is confirmation of the murder of a god, and there is immediate fear that it is the work of followers of Aten, the old god, now outlawed, established by Akhenaten, the heretic pharaoh. But the suspect in this unholy crime is also murdered under mysterious circumstances in the antechamber of Queen Nefertari's own halls. Rumors spread, and Khamwaset must follow the clues to these murders to find the traitors, who are operating from the heart of the palace and temples to destabilize his father's reign.
