Angelicus

The year is 1319. Prince James, heir to the throne of Aragon, displays a religious inclination that the monarch disapproves of, keeping a secret known only to his confessor. Renouncing the crown would mean breaking his engagement to Princess Eleanor of Castile and could trigger a diplomatic crisis between the two kingdoms. The courts of the two betrothed young people are to meet at Miravet Castle before the wedding. During this waiting period, disturbing events unfold: the kidnapping and torture of the prince's confessor and the mysterious death of one of his pages.
