In 1973, Julio Alsina—a former Spanish police officer living in exile in Paris—has left behind his turbulent past under the Franco regime. He now leads a quiet life as a bookseller in Montmartre alongside his wife, Rosa, his son, and his friend Joaquín. However, his stability is shaken when Epstein, a CIA agent, approaches him with an offer he cannot refuse: to investigate a brutal murder that took place two years earlier in the luxury development of Puerto Rey in Vera, Almería.
