Fragmentaria y polifónica, esta novela indaga en los secretos enterrados y sugiere la imposibilidad de acceder a una verdad completa.
Structured around the disappearance of Claudia, a young journalism student in 1970s Spain, and her investigation into the death of her uncle Lorenzo, At the End of Voices combines different narrative planes: the present of the investigation, the documents and files it generates, and the reconstruction of the family's past during the Civil War and the postwar period. Through a fragmented and polyphonic structure, the novel alternates chapters focused on Claudia with others dedicated to Lorenzo, whose life —between 1936 and 1972— is marked by violence. Interwoven between these two narrative threads are the notes of a private investigator. Diego Vaya weaves a plot steeped in oppressive atmospheres, where the inherited mine becomes a symbolic space representing what remains buried —bodies, secrets, guilt— and the impossibility of accessing the whole truth.
