La espía de Alfonso X

13th Century. Instability beyond the Tagus River has transformed southern Iberia into a battleground where the interests of the warring Muslim kingdoms converge with those of Aragon and Castile, who relentlessly harass the inhabitants in their quest for reconquest. To control the borders, Ferdinand III sends the Infante Alfonso, the future King Alfonso X the Wise, to the recently conquered city of Córdoba. It is there that he encounters a woman whose character and intelligence will change the course of history: María la Balteira. The Infante will make use of this brave and enigmatic lady, who will risk her life by intriguing among the arráezes (royal officials) and governors of the main Muslim cities of al-Andalus. In this way, he will manage to seize the most important strongholds in southern Iberia on his path to conquering the Kingdom of Murcia.
