El loco (Arcanos menores, 1)

When Theresa returns home to care for her ailing mother, a village fortune teller who reads tarot cards and comforts terminally ill elderly women, everything inside her tells her to run away. It's hardly surprising; Theresa spent her adolescence feeling that Limberlost, the small town where she was born, would destroy her. While all the girls her age were going through a witchy phase, she lived in shame because of her mother's work. Upon her return, she soon discovers that everyone in the village is mysteriously connected to the tarot and that she, too, might possess genuine psychic abilities. It's up to her to reconcile with her ailing mother, confront the failures of her past, and help the villagers she's been running from her entire life.
